Dr. Joseph Warren Sears, 86, of Denton passed away on Thursday June 8, 2017 at his home in Denton, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on September 21, 1930 in Whitt, Texas to Vernon and Gertrude (Tipps) Sears. Dr. Sears was married to the late Lorraine (Moore) Sears.
He attended public school in Whitt, Texas and North Side High School in Fort Worth. He did under graduate work at T.C.U. He went to U.T.M.B in Galveston for his medical certification and did his internship at University of Arkansas. Dr. Sears was a member at the First Christian Church. He was a volunteer at Medical City of Denton in the Cath. Lab. Dr. Sears was on the Board of Directors at Flow Memorial Hospital, on staff at Denton Regional Medical Center and on the review Board at Denton State Supported Living Center.
Dr. Sears is survived by two daughters, Liz Sears Witte and husband Mark, Connie Sears Lane and husband Mark, one son, Joseph Sears II and wife Connie, sister and brother in law, Gerri and Jim Owen, five grandchildren, Sarah and Tallon Carroll, Hayden Witte, Hannah Lane, Warren Sears and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, parents Vernon and Gertrude Sears.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday June 12, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Christian Church.
Memorial may be made to Accolade Hospice and Home Instead.
