Joseph Edward "Joey" Turner, Jr., 31, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away May 5, 2021 in New Orleans. He was born to Melanie and Joseph Edward Turner in Longview, Texas on June 15, 1989.

Joey was self-employed as a musician and painter. He was also a talented singer.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward Turner.

Joey is survived by his mother and step-father, Melanie and Timothy Kerr of Savannah, Texas, step-mother, Derlis Turner of Honduras, sons, Andrew Noah Riley Kerr of Savannah, Texas, Phoenix Allen Wentzel and Hayden Michael Wentzel, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, long-time partner, Alexandra Krcma of Metairie, Louisiana, brother, JonMarc Timothy Kerr of Savannah, Texas, sisters, Anna Joy Kerr of Lewisville, Texas, Amanda Hope Cornette of Denton, Texas, Jordyn Zohe Faith Kerr of Savannah, Texas, Jailynn Charity Yu Kerr of Savannah, Texas and Jaidynn Grace Anfeng Kerr of Savannah, Texas. He is also survived by his step-siblings, Sharleth Turner, Maria Elizabeth Turner, Josephine Turner, Joshua Turner and James Turner, grandparents, Edward Stevenson and Carolyn Morgan (Charles Malone) and her children, Camaren Morgan, Jeremy Morgan and Elizabeth Morgan and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. A viewing will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5-7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Daniel Brunz officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
