Joshua Ryan Sims, 41, of Ponder, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Ponder, Texas. He was born on December 16, 1977 in Denton, Texas to Gary Wayne Sims and Jo Ann (Lawson) Sims.

As a toddler, he started saying he wanted to work in the "crete-con" company just like his dad. Beginning in high school, he worked summers at Lake Cities Concrete Company in Denton. After graduating from Billy Ryan High School, he continued to have a very long career following his childhood dream.

Josh was a very loving, generous man who was always concerned for those who needed help. He loved joking with and teasing others and made sure to always have a smile on his face while doing it.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Les and Clara Lawson and his father Gary Sims.

Josh is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Sims, sister, Ashley Sims and brother, Jeremy Sims. As well as his nieces and nephew who he adored, Bailey Holliman, Cameron Cummins, and Olivia Sims.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made at any DATCU branch at the benefit of B.C.H. Any questions should be directed towards a family member.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:00 P.M., both at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
