Joyce Marie Coffey, 78 of Denton passed away at home on May 30, 2017. She was born in Pilot Point, Texas on March 12, 1939 to Albert and Gertrude (Schindler) Berend.

She attended Saint Thomas Catholic School and graduated from Pilot Point High School. She married Billy Joe Coffey on July 20, 1957 they were married for 50 years. She worked at Russell Newman and later kept children in the home to be a stay at home mom. She then worked as a Teller for United National Bank. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton, the Altar Society, St. Francis Circle and I.C.C. Outreach Group.

Her favorite hobbies were traveling and spending time at the Lake House with her family and grand-dogs.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet and husband Jimmy Knight of Krum, Dana and husband Paul Sachs of Corinth, son, Kevin and wife Linda of Aubrey, brother, Robert Berend of Ruidoso, New Mexico, grandchildren, Myles Knight, Devron, Dalton and Dylan Coffey, Egan McBride, Erika Sachs, Lindsay Powell, Lauren Nolan, Aimee and Chance Thomas. She had three nieces and one nephew.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father and husband, Billy Joe Coffey.

The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
