Obituary

Joyce Dean Norman, 81, of Pilot Point, Texas went to be with Jesus on March 4, 2024.  Joyce was born on July 9th, 1942 to Juanita & Howard Newton.  Joyce grew up in Lake Dallas, Texas where she attended school.

Left to carry on her legacy are her husband, Charlie Norman of Pilot Point, her daughter Trish "Patty" Sellers of Little Elm, and her grandchildren: Tommy Sellers, Leslie Sellers, Victoria Seward, Ashleigh Farrell, and Austin Seward as well as twelve great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Jimmy Newton of Lewisville, Neda Moore of Tomball, Sandra Howard of Aubrey and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce married the love of her life, Charlie, on February 20, 1960.  They enjoyed traveling, raising two beautiful girls and later in life spending time with their precious grandchildren.  Mom and Memaw were Joyce's favorite titles. Joyce was a fantastic sister to her 8 siblings, and an even better aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Joyce's love language was cooking.  She was an amazing cook and loved to feed you anytime you walked through her door.  Homemade biscuits, German chocolate cake, pea soup, and banana pudding were some of her specialties.  As a follower of Christ, Joyce had a servant's heart with the spiritual gift of hospitality.

Joyce held many jobs in her life.  In the early 1980's she worked at Texas Instruments and was very valued there.  She went on to be a pioneer in the construction business, as a female owned power washing company.  Joyce was very successful in that industry and very respected.  She valued her time in both of those jobs.  She was one of the hardest working women you will ever meet.

Above all the jobs held being a wife, mom, Memaw, sister and aunt were her absolute favorites.  She loved her family fiercely.  Joyce would do anything in her power to help those that she loved. It was an absolute honor to be loved by Joyce.

She was met at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Howard and Juanita Newton, daughter Viicky Seward, son-in-law Riley Seward, as well as siblings: Edward Newton, Franklin Newton, Jo Brown, Betty Gossett, and Geri Arispe.
