Joyce Elaine Stark, 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Denton. She was born on August 20, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Barney and Kay Limmer.

Joy graduated from Jefferson High School and later realized her dream of being a nurse, receiving her LVN from North Central Texas College. She worked for more than 20 years taking care of those in her community. Many times, those same patients stopped Joy in public so they could say hello and tell of the gratitude and thanks for the genuine love and care she showed. For the last 5 years she worked for Denton County MHMR, truly enjoying those around her. Young or old, she loved everyone with a sincere heart and appreciation for the fun moments.

She married the one and only love of her life, John Stark Jr. in San Antonio in November of 1969. They spent 43 years together and remained inseparable until his passing. Joy loved her family, loved her friends, and was the epitome of compassion, graciousness and joy, and true beauty inside and out.

Joy is preceded in death by her husband and her parents and is survived by daughters Jennifer Stark and Jessica Stark-Meloy, and son-in-law Kevin Meloy.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Joy touched are invited to her memorial service.  It is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, February 24, 2020.
