Juanita Francis Caglagis
1928 - 2023

Juanita Francis Bland Caglagis, 95, of Krum, Texas was called to her heavenly home by God on November 15, 2023.

Visitation: 12pm to 2pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton Private burial following at Jackson Cemetery in Krum

Juanita was the second child born to Ezra and Amma Bland on February 17, 1928 in their home at LaGrave Field, home of the Fort Worth Cats, where her father was groundkeeper. When she was a preteen, she helped the family by working at the concession stand during the ballgames. She also enjoyed riding her horse around the property at the ballpark.

After graduating from Trimble Tech High School where she met her future husband, she attended Texas Woman's University in Denton for one year. When her high school sweetheart, Gus Caglagis, came home from WWII, they married on May 3, 1947. They lived in the Fort Worth/Haltom City/ Haslet/Krum areas thru a blessed and fruitful life of 61 years, until his passing in 2008.

As a young couple, they purchased a house in Haltom City. As their family, grew she helped her husband design and build a larger home behind their current home. As she raised her girls, she enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting. She was a dedicated Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. After many years, when all of her girls had moved on with their lives, she once again relocated by helping build a small home in the country near Haslet, Texas.

At this time, Juanita was enjoying raising cattle, working in her garden and just living a normal country life. After many years of country peace, this was changed when Alliance Airport was built close to her property. Once again, she packed and they moved further out in the country close to Krum, Texas.

Through all of her life's changes, she was a true and faithful servant of God. She always maintained her Christian faith and was a living witness to everyone she came in contact with.

A very special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Shonda, Angela and Jeanne.

Juanita was predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 sister Nellie Mae Glen and 2 brothers Vernon Bland and Clarence (T-Bone) Bland. Survivors: Daughters, Shelia Worthey; Sharleen Worthey and husband, David; Sonja Boaz and husband, Ronnie; Starlyn Frank and husband, Kenny; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
