Obituary

Juanita Jane Grove of Krum, Texas, 90 years of age, went to be with her heavenly Father Thursday morning August 22, 2024.

Juanita died peacefully at home with her children by her side. She was born July 11, 1934, in Wichita Falls, Texas and was the sixth of nine children born to David Orr and Lora Jane Morrow.

Juanita married Lindal Clinton Grove on November 17, 1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Lindal was the love of her life. They celebrated 67 years of a wonderful marriage. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2018.

After being saved in her early twenties, she became very active in the church for many years, singing specials, teaching Sunday School and filling in for the pastor while he was on vacation. She loved preaching and teaching the Word of God. She was a member of New Beginnings Assembly of God in Decatur, Texas.

As a young woman, she developed a love for elderly people and became part of a nursing home ministry called Building a Bridge, at the Denton Rehab Nursing Center.  For over 20 years she would shine her light for Jesus, singing and bringing a message to the elderly once a week. She became known as the banana lady because she always brought bananas to them. God surely has a special reward for her for all the lives she touched.

She was happiest when her family of seven kids and 13 grandchildren spent time with her.  She loved spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking for her family.  She is remembered fondly for baking her famous sugar cookies for all the grandkids, playing in her pool in the summers, and for her special pumpkin bread at Christmas. She often was heard singing "Shimmering Curtains" with her grandchildren.

Juanita is survived by her brother, Wayne Morrow (Linda) of Duncan, Oklahoma, her sister, Josephine Harvey of Duncan, Oklahoma. Her three Daughters: Karen Stevenson (Dolon), Darla Grimes (Tony Vidal), Carla Brumley of Krum, Texas. Her two Sons: Paul Grove of Aubrey, Texas and Michael Grove of Krum, Texas. Grandchildren: Jennifer Paz (Francisco), Clint Grove, Rachael Howard (Wesley), Chad Stevenson (Denise), Crystal Johnson (Michael), Heather Huber (Mark), Danielle Khoury (Marcus), Shane Grove (Sky), Christina Grimes (Chuck Regnold), Christopher Grimes (Beth), Meagan Hall (Tyler), Jason Brumley and 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, with the youngest being Mateo Garcia who was able to meet his great-great grandmother.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lora Morrow; four Brothers: L.D., J.B., Lloyd and David Morrow, two Sisters: Lorene Brown and Evelyn Morrow.  Lindal and Juanita's three Sons:  Lindal "Linny" Grove Jr. , Stephen Grove , Infant son. Grandson: Joshua Grove and great-grandchildren: Jacob Grove and Ana Maria Paz.
