Juanita M. Seals, 82, of Justin passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 in Justin, Texas. She was born July 19, 1934 in Sheldon, Texas to Joseph Samuel Melcer and Ray Sunshine Melcer. Juanita married Billy George Seals December 23, 1950 in Justin, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ray, an infant son Billy Bob Seals, sisters Annie Mae Baldwin, Ruby Amelia Kruger, Eloise Mildred Melcer, Jeanette Harrison, Dorothy Brooks, Laura Jane Hutchins and a brother Buddy Benjamin Joseph Melcer.

Juanita attended Demonstration School of Denton and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ponder. She worked at Wyatts Food Store on N. Elm St., the Green Stamp Store, Moore Business Forms in Denton and was the secretary of the Pro Rodeo Historical Society. Juanita was an artist and the author of the book "Ponder, The Little Town With The Big Rodeo". She had also served as Mayor of North Lakes, Texas.

Visitation for Juanita is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at First Baptist Ponder. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at First Baptist Ponder with interment immediately following at Justin Cemetery.

Juanita is survived by her husband Billy George Seals, son David George Seals and two grandchildren Shelley Seals and Jonathan Seals.
