Tribute

Judith Lynn (Headley) Freeland, 75, of Denton (Robson Ranch), TX passed into God's hands the afternoon of October 13, 2020. She is survived by James L Freeland, her husband of 54 years; their daughter Janet L. (Freeland) Wright of Northlake, TX, her husband, Brian, and son Braden; their daughter Jennifer L. (Freeland) Corman of Naperville, IL, her husband Mark, daughters Elyse and Claire, and son Bennett; and brother William Headley of Conroe, TX and wife Nancy.

Judy was born and raised in Akron, OH, graduated from Ellet High School and attended Kent State University and University of Akron, where she met her husband. They married on August 20, 1966 and began their journey together. They lived in Akron, Tallmadge and Bath, OH, before relocating to Naperville, IL, and finally to Denton, TX in August 2019.

When her daughters were of school age, Judy became actively involved in the PTA  and community events including being chairman of the antique show and other numerous fundraising events. In Naperville, Judy was elected to the HOA board. As their daughters grew up, Judy went back to work for Domino's Regional Center and eventually as the Office Manager for Nationwide Insurance in Naperville before retiring.

Judy was devoted to her family and lovingly known to her grandchildren as "Juju". She was an avid bridge player, known as a stylish dresser with a penchant for her bling, loved dogs, decorating, shopping, politics and sports. Judy was the best mother and Juju ever, and was an incredibly loving and loyal wife.

My dear, I will always remember you as a graceful dancer..."Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?"

Friends and family are invited to join us at the Wildhorse Grill in Robson Ranch for a Celebration of Life on Sunday 10/25 from 12-2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Denton Humane Society.
