Judy Lee Lucas passed peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

She was born in Ventura, California on August 23, 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, her sisters, Dorthy and Gladys, brother Rollo, niece Annie, and various extended family members.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Cynthia and Barbara and their families and her sister Barbara and family. She is also survived by a host of family, cousins, nieces, and nephews, in California, Kansas and Oregon.

Judy was known by all as "Nanny". She leaves a lasting memory on so many she cared for and nurtured from birth, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces. She is survived by these blessings, Bubba, Chelsea, Phillip, Katrina, Zachary, Kristy, Jacey, Trey, Wendy, Jocelyn, Lauren, Riley, Hadlee, Mallow, Lilah, Nova, Charlotte, Little Kevin, and Marilyn.

Judy worked as a bookkeeper, but her true calling was caring for children. This she did with the most loving and patient heart. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and crafts, one her favorites were painting ceramics. She loved collecting things including Scentsy, Beanies, Singing Plush, and Elvis memorabilia. Above all she loved life and soaked up every second of it. Her home was filled with this love and could be found bursting with family and friends on holidays and birthdays. Her favorites were Halloween and Christmas.

Nanny filled those around her with a spirit of love and kindness leaving us with this in our hearts forever and ever.

We love you and miss you Nanny, see you on the other side.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday 12/30 at 2:00 pm in the DeBerry Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow at Justin Cemetery.
