Obituary

Julie Alice Kammer passed away peacefully at her home in Argyle on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, with her children by her side.  Julie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 23, 1943, to Alvin "Butch" Putney and Lydia Yannke.

Julie graduated from Bay View High School in 1961 and married Jerry Kammer in 1964.  They raised two children together, Steve and Shellie.

Julie worked as a travel agent which allowed the family to take many trips together.  She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Amber University, while working full time at SWB Yellow Pages/AT&T before retiring.

Julie enjoyed traveling, playing the guitar, hosting pool parties, scuba diving, golfing, crafting beautiful stained-glass pieces, attending her Annual 50's-Fest gathering with her high school friends, volunteering at Medical City Hospital in Lewisville and researching genealogy (DAR - National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Member #915221).  But most of all, she loved being a mom/gram and spending time with her Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Putney.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022.  More details to follow.

Julie is survived by her Son Steve Kammer & Spouse Kathy of Denton, Daughter Shellie Smith & Spouse Gordon of Denton, Grandchildren Josh Kammer & Spouse Kim of Forney, Lexi Kammer, Kaylie Smith & Lydia Smith of Denton and many beloved Nieces, Nephews and Family/Friends.
