Julie Ann Mahan, 54, of Denton passed away on October 1, 2016 in Denton, Texas. She was born on December 27, 1961 to William and Betty Newman in Montebello, California. Julie Ann grew up in Fullerton, California where she attended Sunny Hills High School.

After High School, she went directly into the work sector. She mainly worked at several insurance companies, from Johnson & Higgins to 21st Century Insurance from where she retired.

She married Robert "Brian" Mahan in Newport, Oregon. They just recently celebrated their 15th Wedding Anniversary on September 20, 2016. They first met at an Insurance Office and started dating in 1999.

Julie Ann was a big time animal lover, even though she suffered through allergies most of her life. Her pride & joy as a young child was her dog, Coco. Most recently, her cat, Djinn Djinn (name taken from a dog that frequented episodes of "I Dream of Jeannie").

Julie Ann was also very much into Arts & Crafts. She would always create her own jewelry and liked putting together various arrangements associated with the holidays, Halloween and Christmas being her favorites.

Julie Ann very much liked attending Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, the latter of which she worked as a teenager.

Julie Ann loved fashion and always would wear a different outfit each day.  She wore the brightest colors that would always lift your spirits.  She loved shopping at Nordstroms, Macy's and many other department stores.  Her face would always light up when she saw something that she had to have.

Julie Ann liked everyone she came in contact with. She had the biggest heart and would never judge anyone.

She loved to watch her TV shows, including The Bachelor, Rules of Engagement, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, Gilligan's Island, Batman, Twin Peaks, Dallas, Dynasty & I Dream of Jeannie. But her favorites shows were The Simpsons, Frazier and Seinfled.

She also loved sports, mostly the Pittsburgh Steelers, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and the San Francisco 49ers.
