Obituary

J Weldon Davis, 86, of Denton, passed away on December 5, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 15, 1934, in Reagor Springs, TX. to Dewey and Lela Vivian Davis.

As a young man, he honorably served his county in the United States Army. His early years were in the small community of Boyce, TX, where he worked at the cotton Gin. Later he worked at the boat factory in Lewisville, TX.  In 1959 he made his residence in Denton TX. Early on He worked at the AAA Auto Savage. .

As a gifted mechanic, he worked on, restored and built Studebakers in his shop.  Few men are fortunate enough to be able to pursue their passion like JW did for these automobiles.  In his auto shop, he mentored many men in auto mechanics.  J W was a longtime member of the North Texas Studebaker Club.

He is survived by his sister, Frances Davis Simmons, four nieces and nephews, Glenda Sydnor, Bruce Redmon, Renda Barringer, and Terry Joe Redmon and many grand nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by an older brother, Robert Davis and his father and mother.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 2-4 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. A committal service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 1:15 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cementery.
