Katherine (Kathy) Annette Anderson went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, September 18th, 2024 after her courageous battle with cancer. Born January 19th, 1960 to Rosa Ruby and Franklin D. Lang in Denton, Texas. Kathy is remembered for her work ethic, spending almost 20 years at Safety Kleen in Denton, Texas where she made lasting friendships with her colleagues. She then spent 8 years working for the Denton VA Clinic where she was adored by her patients who frequently brought her gifts.

Her daughter fondly remembers her as a nurturing mother who strived endlessly to build a brighter future for her. Kathy loved to garden and opened her home to multiple pets throughout the years that she cherished dearly. Her family and friends remember her for her character, empathy, and faith. She was a devoted member of the North Texas Trinity Cowboy Church, where she attended as much as she could despite her failing health, courageously and with a positive attitude. Kathy was loved by all members of the church and created many valued friendships.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Meshea Anderson, her mother Rosa Ruby, her sister Janet Wright, her nieces and nephews, David Blanchard, Jimmy Don Hadley, Anthony Hadley, Shana Murphy, and Josh Lang. As well as many dear friends, Renee Pruett, Shanda Hailey, and Wanda Todd. She is preceded in death by her father, Franklin Lang, her brother, Mack Darryl Lang, her grandparents, Bill and Juanita Bentley, and Carl and Essie Lang, as well as her beloved friends Darla Degler and Carolyn Pruett.

A visitation will be held at the DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas on Sunday, September 22nd from 1-3 pm. Her funeral service will take place Monday, September 23rd at 11 am, followed by her burial at the Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.
