Katherine Knight Palmertree, 60, of Providence Village, Texas passed away on May 18, 2023, in Denton, Texas. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 22, 1963 to Jack Knight Sr. and Nena (Tena) Knight Andersen.

Katherine attended Myers Park High School and the University of Virginia and received her medical degree from Wake Forest University. She had a lifelong passion for helping people, which she expressed through her career as a doctor. Katherine loved animals, especially her two dogs, Mousse and Reese. She loved the beach and was happiest while reading a book on the South Carolina coast.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Palmertree of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her step-son Jake Palmertree; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Elizabeth Knight; her niece, Kate Knight; her nephews, Will and Ben Knight of Charlotte, North Carolina; extended family and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors, Denton, Texas and a Celebration of Life will be held at Myers Park Baptist Church, Charlotte, North Carolina at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Denton Humane Society.
