IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathryn Sherrill
Armstrong
September 8, 1949 – October 17, 2025
Our beloved mother, Kathryn Sherrill Armstrong, passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 76, holding the hand of the love of her life of 53 years. She was a force of nature, a source of endless love, and the heart of our family.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York, Kathy moved to Twentynine Palms, California when she was 3 years old. She attended Twentynine Palms High School and College of the Desert. In 1963, she met the love of her life, Charles Russell Armstrong. They became inseparable and were married on March 18, 1972.
Kathy was an amazing cook and loved to take care of everyone she knew. She could sew anything, and often created beautiful items with no pattern. Her love of crocheting won her several awards including a Best of Show. Many people here have blankets she made.
She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and touched the lives of countless people with her kindness and generosity. She became the "bonus mom" to many in need, who still call her "Mom". Her home was always open, and she made sure every person who entered felt loved, seen, and left with a full belly. Kathy would cook as if she was feeding an army- and often was- everyone was always invited for dinner. She will be deeply missed by many, as her legacy of love continues through those she left behind.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Armstrong. Her six children, Patricia (Daniel) Guinta, Amy (Jurgen) Catin, William (Brittany) Armstrong, Marsha (William) Such, Marquita (Christopher) Evans, Michael (Tania) Armstrong; her sister Susan (Roger) Eaton; brother John Bower; and sisters- in- law Suzanne Armstrong and Mayde Goodwin.
Her legacy will live on through the lives of her grandchildren, Emilee, Matteous, Gracie, Blake, Lillian, Caiden, Erin, Karleigh, Elaine, Sherrill, Titus, Leilah, and three bonus grandchildren Nixon, Foster, and Monroe Wetta.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Emrick, as well as her brother David Bower.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3 PM. Bill Deberry Funeral Home, 2025 W. University Drive, Denton, Texas 76201
