Kathy Nell Hestand

Kathy Nell Hestand peacefully passed away, surrounded by many loved ones, in Flower Mound, Texas, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1952, in Plano, Texas, to Leon and Margie Smith.

Kathy found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved. She cherished family gatherings, game nights, playing pool, singing, and dancing. Her family was her pride and the center of her world; she never missed an opportunity to love on and brag about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Smith; and her sisters, Bonnie Ferrell and Dorothy Brassell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Steve Jones and his wife Tara, and Richard Jones and his wife Michele; her sisters, Betty Grimes and Pam Ward and her husband Loyd; her grandchildren, Justin Jones and his wife Mariah, Tori Mathews, Jaimie Jones, Khloe Stevens, and Connor Stevens; her great-grandchildren, Ryon, Payton, and Elliott; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
