Katie Ruth Browning was born May 26, 1927 in Rainy River in Pinewood, Ontario, Canada. She passed away May 8, 2025, at her home in Justin, Texas. Katie was the youngest of eight children and her father and mother were Henry and Helen Greenaway. All of her siblings have passed before Mom.

The Gospel story came by two ministers of God to the Pinewood community in the summer of 1925 and to the Greenaway family. Mom professed to follow Jesus at the Boring, Oregon convention in August 1940 at 13 years old. Mom stated that "she has never been sorry for making that choice and it was the "beginning of days for her". On April 25, 1947, she married Bill Browning in Cloverdale, Oregon. Together they had three children.

They lived in Beaver, Oregon and built their first home there, as they owned the logging company of Browning Brothers Logging with Bill's Brother. After Bill passed away in 1964, she moved to Eugene, Oregon and her children went to school there through their High School days. She moved to Vancouver, Washington in 2000. Mom moved to Justin, Texas in 2017 and finished her days there at her home at 10800 Alamo Drive.
