Katie Lou Parker joined her loved ones in heaven on November 18, 2024. She is survived by her four children, Zachary, Darrell, Regina and Sarah Beth as well as her 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, 1 brother and sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and her husband.

She was born in Lucas, TX on November 7, 1941, to Richard and Ethel Strickland. She met her husband Ferrell in Carrollton, and they were married in 1959. After raising her 4 children in Carrollton, she and her husband built a home in the Gainesville, TX area near Lake Kiowa. She
has lived in Denton for the past 18 years.

She was a loving and caring mother and was especially patient and attentive to her youngest child Sarah Beth who has special needs. She was an excellent listener, allowing everyone to be heard as she simply listened. She always offered encouragement and compliments to all that she encountered.

She loved shopping and thrift stores were her favorite. She loved to share her finds and made sure you knew the bargain price she paid for them. What brought her true peace and joy was knowing Jesus. She would share Jesus with strangers and remind everyone how much Jesus loved them.

Her memorial service will be Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2pm at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas.
