Kattie Florene Daugherty Wills Point, Texas – April 8, 2026
Kattie Florene Daugherty passed away on April 8, 2026, in Denton, Texas, with both of her devoted daughters by her side. Kattie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
All who knew Kattie recognized her as a prayer warrior—a woman of deep faith who found joy in giving and sharing treats with everyone around her. Her life was marked by grace, resilience, and an abiding love for her Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Kattie was born in Wills Point, Texas, alongside her twin sister, Lorene, who did not survive. She grew up in North Texas with her five siblings. Kattie later married a serviceman, and together they raised two daughters while living across the country—residing in Hawaii, North Carolina, and California—before returning home to North Texas after being widowed.
She spent her later years surrounded by the love of family and friends, and she found special joy in her church community, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her unwavering love and faith were the pillars of her life.
Kattie is preceded in death by her parents, Irene Francis Folmar and Theo Western Folmar; her husbands, Freeman Howard Daugherty and Eddie Gene Gentry; her brother, Ray Folmar; and her sister, Bessie Skates.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice and Renona; her sisters, Bertha and Bonnie; her brother, Darvin; as well as her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry her love in their hearts.
Kattie will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
