Goodman

Memorial Service
IN LOVING MEMORY
Kay Williams Goodman passed away at her home in Sanger, Texas on March 16th, 2026. She was born in Denton, Texas to Alex and Kathryn Williams on September 9th, 1936. Kay graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1958. She enjoyed numerous vocations as a speech pathologist, educator, administrator, advocate, satirist, volunteer, friend, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and ranch hand. Perhaps her favorite was sharing the hospitality of her front porch. Highlights include coaching Special Olympics soccer, serving on the state board of MHMR, co-founding City House, writing the Live from Plano charity fundraising musical review, and serving on the Texas Woman’s University Board of Regents and the board of directors for Cumberland Presbyterian Children’s Home (now Cumberland Youth & Family Service). She entertained many of us with her quick wit, her book reviews, and her wonderful stories.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Bob.
Kay is survived by her brother Alec Williams, her three children, Barbara Hokamp, Lindy Evans, and Rob Goodman, their spouses, 10 grandchildren with their spouses, 14 great-grandchildren, a herd of cows, and a faithful dog. They will gratefully remember Kay/Mom/Mimi for her clever humor, her deep love, and her listening ear.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in honor of Kay to the Denton County Livestock Association Blue Ribbon Scholarship, the Cumberland Youth and Family Services Supervised Independent Living Program, or a children’s charity of your choice.
Our family would like to thank the many people who loved and cared for our mother and the many who supported us in prayer.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on April 17th in The Little Chapel in the Woods on the Texas Woman’s University Campus. Please join us in the Fellowship Hall at Blue Mound United Methodist Church following the service to enjoy the company of friendship, sharing our memories and stories as we celebrate a life well lived.
