Kayla Ann Phillips was born in Mena, Arkansas on February 24, 1960, and passed away February 26, 2022 after a courageous battle against COVID. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1978, and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University in 1982 with a degree in Business Management.

In her career she was well loved and respected by many numbers of the Child Nutrition Department for Denton Independent School District.

Today Kayla is survived by her husband, William Ronnie Phillips; her mother Wanda Long; her sister Cheryl Roupe; her two children, Reed Phillips, and William Erik Phillips; her step-children Brandy Williams, Jennifer Phillips-Reyes, Arron Phillips, and Bryan Phillips; her ten grandchildren; and her fur baby Ladybug.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Long in July 1995 and her brother Douglas Long on January 30, 2022.

Kayla was an amazing wife and mother, and she will be greatly missed. Her love for her family radiated with every act of service, every sacrifice, and every word of wisdom she passed along through the years. Kayla served as the embodiment of motherly love. Her devotion and kindness towards others was unmistakable and true. Kayla will be missed on Earth, but she was taken in by God's warm embrace once she passed through the gates of heaven.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Beck officiating.
