IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Keith Robert
Galt
January 20, 1959 – June 5, 2025
Keith Robert Galt, a man with a heart full of love and a mischievous grin, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 66 years old.
Keith was born on January 20, 1959, in Haverford, Pennsylvania, to Gladys Newton Werkheiser and George Hunter, and was later adopted by Samuel Galt, who instilled in him a love for hunting and the great outdoors. He was also blessed with a strong father figure in John Werkheiser, who remained an important presence throughout his life.
Keith grew up in a large, blended family. He is survived by his siblings: Michelle Galt, George Hunter, Kenny Galt (wife Nadine), Sammy Galt, Jeff Galt, Karen Huntsinger, Denise Balch (husband Mark), and Charlene Shingle (husband Jack). The bonds he shared with his family were deep—woven with stories, pranks, and a whole lot of laughter.
On February 3, 1979, Keith married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Nash. Together, they built a life rooted in laughter, hard work, adventure, and family. In 1984, they moved to Texas to begin a new chapter and, in 1992, founded Galt's Mobile Home Service. Keith poured his heart into his work and built a business that served the community for over three decades. But his greatest joy came from being with his family.
He was a proud father to two daughters, Teresa Meroney (husband Dave-in-law) and Jessica Galt, who brought endless joy and pride into his life. He was also a loving Pops to his grandchildren: Alli, Maci, and Matthew. His family was his world, and his love for them knew no bounds.
Keith will be remembered not just for his strong work ethic and deep devotion to those he loved, but for his vibrant spirit. He was the life of every party—known for his big smile, even bigger heart, and his uncanny talent for scaring people. Whether it was a haunted house, a jump scare around the corner, or a perfectly timed prank, Keith's playful nature, quick wit, and boundless energy brought laughter and unforgettable memories to everyone around him.
His legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. Though he may be gone from our sight, his stories, his jokes, and his unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled—but the startled yelps followed by laughter will echo forever in our memories.
A celebration of Keith's life will be held on July 26 at 4:00 PM at 2785 George Owens, Ponder, Texas 76259.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Keith by sharing a story, pulling a lighthearted prank, or simply bringing joy to someone's day—just as he would have done.
Rest easy, Keith. The world is a little quieter without your laugh, but your joy, humor, and love will echo forever.
