Kendal Lee Shaw

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Kendal "Ken" Shaw loving husband and father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away at the age of 76.

Ken was born on December 30, 1944, in Spur, Texas, to Noel and Ola Mae Shaw. He was raised in Lubbock, Texas, where he met and married Evelyn McKee. Ken and Evelyn Shaw were married for 57 years, and had three children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ken worked for Halliburton for 25 years as a metallurgist and welding inspector. As an expert consultant, his career took him to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and India to advise on oil rig structures.

After Ken retired from Halliburton, he opened S&S Auto Parts and Repair in Sanger, which he operated until 2005. As a small business owner, Ken was well known and loved in the Sanger community. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and big personality. He never passed a stalled car on the side of the road without stopping to offer help and was always willing to help any customer, regardless of their ability to pay.

Ken always had a good story to tell. If you knew him well enough, you heard about his adventures to Singapore or that he lived in the same Lubbock neighborhood and attended the same junior high school as Buddy Holly, whom he was a life-long fan.

Ken was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Tony Shaw, and sister Sue Shaw Fikes. He is survived by his wife; his children, Jammye Shaw Reeves of Denton, Roger Shaw of Fort Worth, Texas and Angie Shaw Alexander of Coppell; brother James Shaw of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren Trenton Reeves, Maddison Odum, Mason Shaw and Jake Kogutt; and great grandchildren Cason, Caden and Maylee Shaw.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton at 2025 W. University Drive.
