IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Ray
Hawkins
August 12, 1937 – October 4, 2025
Kenneth Ray Hawkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 88, in The Woodlands, Texas. Born on August 12, 1937, in Rhea Mills, Texas, he was the son of Hardy and Cora Hawkins. Kenneth spent his early years growing up on the family farm in Prosper, Texas. For 69 years, Denton, Texas, was his home, where he was known for his kindness and sense of humor.
On August 4, 1961, Kenneth married Nelda Jean Edmonds, and together they built a loving family. They were blessed with three children: Bob, Linda, and Rebecca. Kenneth dedicated himself to providing for his family, working for the Texas Highway Department for 42 years.
Kenneth had a passion for farming and tractors. He spent many years growing a large garden at his home in Denton, where he found peace and joy in tending to the land. He also loved reminiscing about his farm upbringing, and the memories of his childhood remained an important part of his life.
Whether it was to someone he had just met or a longtime friend, he was always ready with a tale from his life, a funny anecdote, or an obscure fact that would surprise and delight. If you ever needed to know an unusual fact or an exact date, Kenneth was the person to ask.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy and Cora Hawkins; his brothers, RB and Harold Hawkins; his sister, Geraldine Keller; and his daughter, Linda Diane Hawkins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nelda; his son, Bob Hawkins (wife Sandra); his daughter, Rebecca Nye (husband Jeff); his grandchildren, Joshua Hawkins, Isabella Hawkins, Brandon Nye, and Zachary Nye; as well as numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
