Obituary

Kenneth Ray Miller, 89, of Corinth Texas passed from this life on September 8, 2023.

Kenneth was born February 7, 1934 in Vernon Texas to Paul Edward Miller Sr. and Foy Lee Cornelius Miller Patrick.

He was in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War, stationed in Thule Greenland.  Kenneth met Patsy through two of his cousins who attended church with her and encouraged Patsy to write to him as he was a soldier away from home. He married Patsy Maude Young on May 21, 1954. Kenneth and Patsy were married 67 years and loved entertaining family, friends and many strangers just passing through.  Every one was welcomed into their home to share all of God's blessings.  Kenneth worked at Houston Power & Light, the Army/Airforce Exchange, Winn's, then he went into management opening Gibsons and Oshman's stores and many other businesses until he opened his own business of M&M Discount out of Crosby, Texas.

Kenneth lived life with the purpose of telling as many people as he could about Jesus Christ and bringing a smile to everyone he met.  He never met a stranger and he made a friend with every magic trick he could pull out of his pocket.  He loved to BBQ and cook the best steaks you could eat anywhere and shared with as many as possible. He also loved to hunt, fish, camp out, play dominos or anything to entertain.  He would visit hospitals just to do some magic for those who had family there or for patients, doctors, anyone, just to bring a little moment of sunshine into their lives and give them a smile and some laughter. I am so proud of him for all the joy he brought into so many lives and how he never failed to tell others about Jesus.

John Wayne was his favorite Hollywood hero so Daddy loved dressing the part of the cowboy and he loved riding in to save the day for anyone. He provided many a ride to MD Anderson, he also took many a young man under his wing to teach them how to fish, hunt, BBQ, play dominos or anything else he knew.  One time while at a buyers show he met Cary Grant and had his picture taken with him which he hung proudly. I asked him for words of wisdom to go along with read your Bible, put your trust in the Lord and keep His commandments and the Lord will take care of you.  His response was 'treat everyone the same! It doesn't matter if they are famous or unknown, rich or poor or anything else'.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Miller II and wife, Carla of Nacogdoches, daughter, Vicki and husband, David Windham of Denton; Three granddaughters: Jennifer and Cody Young, Briana Windham and Cutler Polk, Melissa and Brian Anderson; Eleven great-grandchildren: Abigail, Blake, Keira, Alissa, Bryce, Carter, Carson, Landon, McKinley, Katie and Kylie; one brother Paul Miller, many nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his family and the many people who loved him because he brought joy and fun and happiness every where he went.

He is preceded in death by his father Paul E. Miller Sr., mother Foy Lee Miller Patrick, wife Patsy M. Young Miller, granddaughter Kimberly Peck, brother James Miller, nephews Chip Miller and Travis Miller.

Kenneth will be interred at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
