Kenneth A. Wright, 69, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 14, 2024.
He was born December 16, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, to John F. Wright and V. Dale Weems. He graduated from Denton High School in 1972, thereafter graduating with honors from North Texas State University in 1977. He earned his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1981.
He practiced law for over 42 years in the D/FW area with a statewide clientele, primarily representing property owners subjected to the eminent domain process. Moreover, he was a published author and speaker on eminent domain and condemnation.
He is survived by his spouse, Melanie Wright; his brother, John F. Wright II and family; his children, Marcella King, Warren Wright, and John Wright from his prior marriage to Susan Nelson; his stepdaughter, Jenifer Cooley; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grant, Liam, Owen, Kyleigh, Ivy, and Olivia.
The family is very grateful for the compassionate care he received at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.
The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, TX on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm for visitation. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. He will be interred at the family cemetery in Spring Creek, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church of Denton, Texas.
