We are deeply saddened to share the loss of Kerry L. Henderson Sr., a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. Kerry, 71, of Denton, passed away on September 6, 2026, peacefully in his home in Denton, Texas, surrounded by loved ones.

His service will be held in Houston, Texas.

He will be buried at Houston National Cemetery

Kerry is preceded in death by his mother Willie Delores Handcock, his father Levy Henderson, and his great-niece Keri’yel Stewart.

Kerry is survived by his children Kerry Henderson Jr, and wife Natasha McGill-Henderson, his 3 granddaughters Neveah, Teyah, and Taliyah of Houston. Brandon Blunt Sr. and wife Christin Blunt, his grandchildren Brendin Blunt, Shannon Blunt, Brooke Blunt, Janiyah Blunt, and Brandon Blunt Jr of Houston. Shonda Jenkins and her 3 children, Eric, Atyra, and Khalia, and 20 great grandchildren. Aisha Jenkins, and her daughter Hykia and 3 children. His sister Lillie Porter, and husband Kenneth Porter (brother in law) and niece and nephews Reginald Stewart, Sophia Stewart, Roger Stewart, and Leslie Price Jr., and 12 great nieces and nephews, 3 great-great nieces of Houston. His sister Harvella Lewis and husband Dameon Lewis (brother-in-law) her children Tannika Lewis, Terrance Stewart, Chantress Lewis, and Christopher Jean-Louis Jr. and his nieces and nephews Norielle Stewart, Miracle Pullins, Desmond Pullins, Payton Scranton, Kash Williams, Grayson Jean- Louis, and Chase Jean-Louis of Houston.

Kerry was born on December 31,1954, to parents Willie Delores Handcock and Levy Henderson. He loved music and adored animals, especially dogs. He treated his little dog Lola like his other child. He was a collector of treasures, finding beauty and value in humble places and small things like a feather, a leaf, and scraps of paper. He was a real joker, always laughing and having fun. His children recall his heart being so loving and pure. Kerry was successful in things that mattered most in life- in the purity of his heart, the warmth and kindness he extended so freely, and his personal relationship with Jesus. He approached his life's many challenges with faith and wonder, and authenticity, staying true to the things that spoke to him. He was a soldier in his own way, continuing to love deeply, laugh freely, and finding beauty and strength, even after life had given him reasons not to.

Kerry was known by many friends as being genuine and inviting with a warmth that made people feel understood and connected to him. The light in his eyes danced and he had an award-winning smile that everyone loved.

He loved his children and appreciated them for exactly who they were, their quirks, small nuances, and all the pieces that made them uniquely themselves.

Kerry will be missed by so many and loved forever…. He is better now no more pain.
