On Wednesday evening, December 2, 2020, A big part of Ponder Texas, Kurt Edward Bluhm 56, passed away, suddenly. He was born February 6,1964 in Denton, Texas to Bill and Cheryl Edwards Bluhm. Kurt attended Denton Elementary/Middle School and graduated from Ponder High School.
He was the hardest working man we have ever known. He got his "life" education at the Jack Holloway University....where many of Kurt's friends have attended. Kurt worked nationwide in refineries for piping engineering where he perfected his trade. He worked for Tridel and Mario Sinacola Companies where he rebuilt heavy machinery, while working in these areas he learned the skills to become the owner of Texas Flame and Plasma for the past 14 years. He always took so much pride in his work and craftmanship. If Kurt Bluhm's name was on it, it was as close to perfect as it could be.
Kurt Bluhm was a very humble man with a larger-than-life personality, a happy smile, and a stylish mustache. People always knew when Kurt came into the room because....he did learn how to whisper in a sawmill. He always had a way with his "one of a kind" sayings such as "I'm Kurt Bluhm and I like to party"! Kurt never met a stranger, he always made others feel important. There are so many funny stories about Kurt, his family and friends could write a bestselling biography "The life and times of Kurty Kurt", I hope we can all remember him as the funny, fun loving man he was, I'm sure he would like all of us to smile when we think of him.
Kurt had a very special place in his heart for his community, the small town of Ponder, Texas. He could not or would not ever say no to anything that was asked of him as far as Ponder was concerned. He gave so much of himself to his community because he loved this little town and the people in it.
Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Wednesday night, December 9th, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Thursday December 10, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Ponder. Burial will follow at the Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.
