Lahonda Jo Peterson, a cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 86, in Grapevine, Texas. Born on September 18, 1939, in Roanoke, Texas, Lahonda lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family and community.

A proud graduate of Northwest High School, Lahonda carried the values instilled in her through her education and upbringing into every aspect of her life. She was the loving daughter of F.W. Peterson and Marie Peterson, who preceded her in death. Their legacy of kindness and resilience remained a guiding force throughout her life.

Lahonda gave her heart and soul to her family, making her role as a mother to Tim Kemp, Tonya Kemp and Terry Kemp a source of immense joy. Her grandchildren, Ashley Morrison, Britany Drake, Kelby Kemp, and Listy Limon, brought her great pride and happiness. Lahonda's nurturing spirit and unwavering support created a loving home where her family felt cherished and celebrated.

In addition to her immediate family, Lahonda shared a special bond with her brother, Truett Peterson. Their connection allowed them to reminisce about their childhood and the memories that shaped their family.

Lahonda’s legacy will be honored during a graveside service at 10:00AM at Elizabethtown Cemetery in Roanoke, Texas, on February 19, 2026. 

Her life was a testament to the love she held for her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lahonda Jo Peterson leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever reside in the hearts of her loved ones.
