Lance Morris, born on December 1, 1967, in Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully in his hometown on July 26, 2026, at the age of 58. His journey began and ended in Denton, a city that remained close to his heart throughout his life. Lance graduated from Denton High School and went on to the University of Texas earning a Bachelor’s degree.
Lance was the beloved son of Suellen Morris (Branch) and Gilmore (Bud)Morris, who mourn his loss deeply. He was cherished not only as a devoted son but also where he formed lasting relationships and touched the lives of many. Lance is survived by Father, Bud and his mother, Suellen, his brother Eddie & Debbie (wife) Dear, an Uncle Kenneth Branch his special Aunt, and many uncles & aunts, nieces & nephews in Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky and Maine. Lance was also godfather to Tia, Noel and Sue Perez’ daughter.
While his journey on earth has come to an end, Lance's memory endures in the hearts of those who knew him. His presence reflected a kind and humorous side; Lance also maintained a steadfast integrity in his earning an education and work ethics that left an impression on his employers and all those who knew and loved him.
To honor Lance’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held on August 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, located at 2025 W University Dr, Denton, Texas. All who knew and loved Lance are invited to gather and share memories of his lasting legacy.
Lance will be forever remembered by his parents, family, and friends, all of whom are grateful for the love and light he brought into their lives.
