Larry Melton Alvey, 72 of Denton passed away on January 21, 2018. He was born in Goree, Texas to William "Bill" and Dorothy Mae (McGarr) Alvey on May 4, 1945.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Alvey) Clark and her husband, Travis, of Denton, TX, his son, Bryan Alvey and his fiancé, Amber, of Carrollton, TX, sister, Betty Sue Christianson, of Shady Shores, TX and brother, Johnny Alvey, of Denton, TX.

"Papa" will always be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Travis II, Olivia and Reese Clark of Denton, TX, Chase Alvey of Sanger, TX and Brock Alvey of Aubrey, TX, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as sisters; Mary Miller, Linda Batterton and Nelda Riley.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February, 24, 2018 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Krugerville, TX.
