Larry B. Howell Sr. of Sanger passed away on August 4, 2016 in Sanger, Texas. He was born on June 4, 1937 to Herman and Alice (Nell) Howell Davis in Asheville, N.C.

Larry served in the US Army, was an Automotive Mechanic and owner of Phillips 66 service station. He was Post Commander for the VFW #2205 in Denton, Texas and active in the Denton Elks Lodge #2446.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Howell Johnson and her husband Travis Nelson of Denton, Tx.; son, Bruce Howell Jr. and wife Lavonda of Sanger, Tx., brother Bob Howell of Ashville, N.C. and two grandchildren, Patricia Howell Grimes and Kimber Howell.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, Sandra Howell, sisters Aileen Kuykendall and Patricia Kay Green and brother Maurice (Chigger) Howell.

The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, August 12 from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas. A reception will follow at the Denton Elks lodge.
