Larry Dale Kaufman, age 70, passed away April 28, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas from complications due to COPD. Larry grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska and graduated from Norfolk High School. He later went to college in Phoenix, Arizona. After a 30-year career at IBM, he retired in 1994.

Larry married Sharon Wagner from Norfolk in 1959 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Norfolk. They recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Larry and Sharon lived in many diverse places in their life together including Nebraska, California, Arizona, New Jersey, Maryland, Tennessee, and Colorado. They settled in Texas and have spent the last 24 years in Argyle, Texas.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, cooking and gardening in his retirement. He loved good stories, practical jokes, laughter and spending time with his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Velma Kaufman of Nebraska, and his sister, Shirley Daley of Tennessee. He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Kristina Flynn, her children, Hannah and Hayden, his daughter Karna Acord and her husband Gary Acord and their children, Levi, Cody and Zane, his sister Patricia Vacek and family of California and his sister Beverly Gordon and family of South Carolina.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by a Service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at DeBerry Funeral Directors, Denton, Texas.
