Lauree Stafford, 85 of Denton, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, in Plano, Texas. She was born in Cordell, Oklahoma on February 18, 1938, to Clayton and Gracie Boggs Scott. She graduated high school from Cordell High School in 1956.

Lauree and Rex Stafford had grown up in the same area. One day they met at a diner where he asked her for a date. They were later married on June 1, 1956.

Lauree is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rex Stafford, daughters, Brenda Broome, and LaNita Elmore, and granddaughters, Miriam Eaves and her husband Josh, and great-granddaughter, Adlyn Durbin.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clayton Boggs, mother, Gracie Boggs Scott, and brother, Kenneth Boggs.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held the following day, January 26, at Singing Oaks Church of Christ in Denton, Texas at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
