Lavern Sims Ballard, 80, of Denton, Texas passed away on July 16, 2021 at her home. She was born on July 16, 1941 in Crossroads, Texas to William Morris Sims and Vera Laveta Sitz Sims.
She graduated Pilot Point High School in 1959 and married A.C. "Fuzzy" Ballard on June 26, 1959. She worked for Drug Emporium for over 20 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonia Ballard of Denton, son, Tracy Ballard, and wife, Terri of Pilot Point, sister, Bernice Wardlaw and husband Bob of Denton, grandchildren, Brad Bridges and wife Jennifer of Denton, Tandy Parker and husband Jimmy of Denton, Trey Allen and wife Lauren of Corinth, Blake Ballard and wife Kenzie of Pilot Point, Paige Jackson and husband Brian of Denton, Ashleigh Hicks and husband Randy of Arlington and Shelby Campbell and husband Vonte of Arlington and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. "Fuzzy" Ballard, her mother and father, sisters, Leta Brown and Alma Faye Cross, brothers, Alvin Sims and Orville "Strawberry" Sims.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 6-8PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Krugerville Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Redfern officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas.
