Lawrence Hestand Jr., 92, of Bowie passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in Bowie. He was born December 31, 1921 in McKinney to Eula and Felva Beatrice Smith Hestand. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He married Fay Ola Smith on April 18, 1942 in Tioga. He managed a restaurant from 1957 until 1987 but his passion was farming.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. prior to the service at 11:00 at DeBerry Funeral Chapel. Mike Williams will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pilot Point Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Enlow, Jon Enlow, Robert Furtick, Bill Jeswein, Ken Gray, Todd Hestand and Stanley Meyers.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Hestand of Flower Mound; sister, Aretta Cargile of Dallas; brother, Jack Hestand of Holly Lake Ranch. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Rebecca Hestand and Prebble Streiff.
