LeRoy Leonard Larson, of Bolivar, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on October 27, 1941, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. LeRoy will be remembered with respect and affection by those who knew him. In his working life, he served as an educator and coach for 35 years, a role that reflected his commitment to guiding and encouraging others. His work in coaching formed an important part of his life and left a lasting impression on the students, schools and communities of Brock, Boswell, Ponder, Stratford and Graford. Coach Larson made an incredible impact on those he taught and coached over his 35 year career and was inducted into the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2015.
LeRoy loved the mountains, hiking, trout fishing, watching westerns and sports on tv, but what he loved most was spending time with his family.
He is deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Linda, his son, Lance and wife Lynn, daughter, Lana Degelia and her husband, David, his grandaughter, Kirsti Pratt and her husband, Alan, and grandsons, Lane and Logan Larson, and brother Duane Larson and wife Cheryl.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Viola Larson and his brother, Keith Larson.
A celebration of life will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 and the service from 3:00-4:00.
