Leslie McKenzie Lee, 66, of North Richland Hills, formerly of Denton, passed away Monday September 23, 2024 at home. She was born April 8, 1958 in Terrell, Texas to Alice Schuermann Hooten and William Don McKenzie.

She graduated from Denton High School in 1976 and received an associates degree from NCTC in 2000 where she was on the Presidents Honor List for a perfect 4.0 grade average. She was a COTA for Denton State School for 10 years.

Leslie loved reading, music, outdoors and hanging with her grand dog Brodie.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton, TX.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the home of her sister, Jenny, following mass at 2602 Rockwood Lane, Denton.

Leslie is survived by her daughter, Casey and husband Gabe Whiffin of North Richland Hills, sisters, Julie and husband Barry Washam of Prosper, Jenny and husband John Richards of Denton, brother Marc and wife Aine of Plano, father and stepmother Don and Karla McKenzie of Prosper, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alice and JR Hooten, and brother Chris McKenzie.
