Lillian Benjamine Rodriguez (Helen or Elena), 79, of Denton passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her Home surrounded by family. She was born March 30, 1938, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Modesto Godinez and Esperanza Ayala. In 1955 she married Homero Perez who died in combat, in 1971 married Rodolfo Trujillo who recently passed and is now married to Raul Rodriquez. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a Substitute Teacher for the Denton ISD.
Visitation and viewing will be Sunday 2:00pm to 4:00pm, July 9, at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, Mass will begin at Monday, 2:00pm, July 10, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Chapel followed by the Burial Roselawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband Raul Rodriquez her daughters, Diana Perez Corona of Denton, Delores Perez (Deceased), Christina Trujillo Anthony of Hinesville, Georgia, Cynthia Perkins of Fayetteville, NC, Brenda Eisenman, OK City, and Rosie Perez (Deceased), Sons David Perez (deceased), Homero Perez Jr., Garland, TX, Francito Trujillo of Phoenix, AZ, and Rudy Trujillo of Phoenix, AZ; Parents, Esperanza Ayala and Modesto Godinez (both deceased), Her First Husband SSGT Homero Perez (Killed in Action-Vietnam), Husband, 1SGT Rodolfo Trujillo (deceased); sisters, Dorothy Clemens of Hermiston, OR, Annie Estle of Hermiston, OR, Hope Smith of Ranier, OR, brothers, Jessie Godinez of Anchorage AK, Alex Godinez of Artesia, NM, Frank Godinez of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Ben Godinez (deceased), Steve Godinez (deceased), James Godinez(deceased) Margo Godinez (deceased), Modesto Godinez (deceased). She also had 20 Grandchildren and 7 Great children.
She enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader, Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, was an ESL instructor and was very active as a Grandmother.
