Lillie Pauline James, 83, of Denton passed away on January 24, 2025 in Denton. She was born in Pilot Point, Texas on March 23, 1941, to Arthur and Mamie Richardson.
Pauline/Mother/Nana kept and stored countless treasures and precious memories of her family; her children and grandchildren since birth; mementos, photos, records, gifts, birthday cards, newspaper articles, baby announcements and clothing. She spent countless hours crocheting blankets to gift her family with.
She enjoyed welcoming and offering her home, meals, talents and services to family as a place for yearly celebrations of birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She opened her home for visits at any time and a place to stay in times of need.
She was employed at one workplace, Emoconite, for 50 years. She recently celebrated her 67th wedding anniversary to Ruben Enoch James.
She was a woman of prayer, who was passionately devoted to daily readings of her Holy bible and enjoyed attending church and singing hymns.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kerry Neal James, and brother Jerry Leon Richardson.
She is survived by her husband, Ruben Enoch James; children, Teresa Lynne James Zahm, Steven Mark James, and David Lee James; grandchildren, Ricky Guditis, Jeremi Guditis, Molli James, Zachary James, and Alisha James; great-grandchildren, Dylan Plimpton Guditis, Logan Guditis, Whitley Guditis, Lucas Guditis, Noah Guditis, and Gabriella Guditis.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2-4pm in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
