Linda McRae Leney , 75, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023.  She was born to Mac and Fernie McRae on March 16, 1948 and grew up in the Texas panhandle in Dumas, Stratford and Sunray. After high school graduation, she attended and graduated from Central Business College in Denver, CO.  She later attended Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX and received a BS degree in Nursing and spent her nursing career working in the Neonatal unit at Cook Children's Hospital helping premature babies which was her biggest passion in life.

Linda was preceeded in death by her husband Gary Leney and parents Mac and Fernie McRae.

Linda is survived by her son, Blake Ethridge of Las Vegas, sister Shirley McRae (Gary Green) of Georgetown, TX and sister Lisa Beck (Kevin Beck) of Denton, TX, stepson Chris Leney (Jennifer Leney), granddaughter Sydney who was the joy of her life of Lake Dallas, TX and six nieces and nephews that were special to her.  She had many cousins she was known to get into mischief with during her childhood and an abundance of aunts and uncles.

She had a passion for music and sports. If she wasn't attending concerts, she was known to enjoy a good vinyl record listening to Neil Diamond most evenings. She enjoyed her time working with the Denton Community Theater and participating in stage plays such as The Sound of Music and Les Miserables. She often enjoyed a good Texas Rangers baseball game, cycling and going to Nascar races. She was an avid dog lover and was known to share many of her meals with them.

Linda packed an abundance of memories into her life and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date to celebrate Linda's life.
