Linda Ann Roberson, 66, of Garland, Tx., passed away on March 21, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Denver, Colorado to the union of Jesse and Garner Ella (Johnson) Roberson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother, Garland. She was baptized at the West End Church of Christ, in Terrell, Texas in 1970 and she immersed herself in the Christian community and received a lifetime of encouragement and support.
Linda had a thirst for knowledge and excelled in academics from an early age. She attended public school in Terrell, Texas and pursued her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas Woman's University and the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas with a concentration in the fields of Rehab Services and Urban Development. She received many academic accolades during her years of study and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Her real passion and calling in life were that of service to others. Early in her career, she worked as an Adult Probation officer and for many years before she ventured out on her own and became a business owner/entrepreneur. She was the owner/Director of several group homes/independent living facilities and opened a Dayhab facility for the disabled that was named in honor of her mother. In her spare time, she could be found feeding the less fortunate from her own kitchen cupboards and/or soliciting donations for her many causes. She was a devout Christian and throughout the peaks and valleys in her life, she never wavered in her faith and trust in God. She firmly and wholeheartedly believed and would say, "the Lord will make a way" and He always did.
She is survived and celebrated by her son, Michael Padgett Roberson (Conice) of Richmond, Texas, her adopted sons, Landon and Julyan Showman Roberson of Garland, Texas and sisters, Loretta Roberson of Denton, Tx Gloria Roberson Wilson of Denton Tx , Martha Roberson of Denton, Tx, Linda Sue Britton of San Antonio, Tx., Ethel McGee of Terrell, Tx and Evelyn Wright of Los Angeles, California; brothers; Edward Garner Roberson of Huntsville, Tx, Carl Roberson of Sanger, Tx, Gary Wayne Roberson (Jacqueline) of Denton, Tx and Marvin Abney, (Denise) of San Antonio, Tx; two grandchildren, Jessica Moore and Makayla Roberson and one great grandchild Kloe Nelson of Lewisville, Tx. She has leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Special thanks to the following for the care and kindnesses extended to Linda during her courageous battle and lengthy illness: Sandy McCoy, FNP-BC, Donna Clay, Keith Crittenden, and the entire hospital staff of White Rock Medical Center and LifeCare Medical Center, Dallas, Tx.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, April 1, 2022 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
