Linda Kay Lamascus Sheets, 76, of Shady Shores, Texas was born July 26, 1947, in Dallas, Texas to Arvil and Beatrice Lamascus. She attended schools in Dallas until her family moved to Corinth, Texas just before the beginning of her sophomore year in high school. She graduated from Denton High School in 1965 and then went on to complete courses at Jessie's Beauty College in Denton.

Shortly after graduating, she met the man who would be by her side for the next 59 years, Les Sheets.  They married on October 1, 1965, at the First Baptist Church of Corinth.  A few years later, they had a daughter, Tye, and a son, Mark.

Linda had a diverse career. She owned a beauty shop in Corinth called Curl Up and Dye.  She worked at Josten's; as office manager for an orthodontist; and eventually ended up in sales for Triangle Temporaries in Denton. During her time at Triangle, she served on many community boards and committees.  She was most proud of serving a term as President of the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce in the early 1990s.

She loved sunflowers, French fries, chocolate-covered strawberries, slot machines, watching old westerns and stubbornly refusing to take advice from others.

She is survived by her husband, Les; daughter, Tye and son-in-law, Chip Pierpont; son, Mark Sheets; and grandchildren, Tatum DeBerry, Josh Harding-Sheets and Kaylee Sheets.

Linda requested that she be cremated as she was certain that no one would do her hair or makeup (what she called "painting the barn") as she would have wanted.

A memorial service will be held at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, September 10, with visitation from 5-6pm and the service beginning at 6:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Linda's name be made to either the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
