Lisa Putman Whipple, born March 29, 1963, in Georgetown, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2026, in Denton, Texas.

Lisa was a true warrior throughout her entire life. A multi-time cancer survivor, her incredible strength, resilience, and fierce love for living inspired everyone who knew her. While she always came out victorious in those battles, her heart unexpectedly came to a rest on Monday evening, leaving behind a legacy defined by courage, warmth, and boundless joy.

Lisa grew up in Oklahoma, graduating from Edmond Memorial High School before pursuing her passion for helping others. She earned her undergraduate degree and went on to complete her physical therapy training at The University of Oklahoma.

For 41 years, Lisa poured her heart into her calling as a physical therapist, including more than two decades with the Denton County Special Education Co-Op. She advocated fiercely for her students, helping kids find their mobility and independence while bringing endless energy to Surf Camp in Port Aransas and Special Olympics programs.

Beyond her career, Lisa lived a rich, vibrant life anchored by her deep faith and devotion to her family. A longtime, devout member of the Methodist Church, she lived as a shining example of a servant life, continually putting others first and ensuring no one ever felt like a stranger. Lisa was the ultimate fun-loving friend, whether she was dancing in Zumba class, cheerfully decorating the office for Christmas, tackling complex jigsaw puzzles, hosting lively game nights over a good glass of wine, or attending book club.

Above all else, her absolute greatest joy was her children. Lisa was immensely proud of Ryan and Jess, never missing an opportunity to brag about the incredible adults they became. Some of her fondest memories were spent traveling together, sharing adventures, and filling her home with love, laughter, and those she cherished most.

Lisa will be remembered with endless love by her son and daughter, Ryan Whipple and Jessica McCauley, along with her cherished grandchildren, extended family, and the countless friends, colleagues, and patients whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Neil and Norma Jeanne Putman, who now welcome her home.
