Obituary

Lloyd Ashley Webb, a long-time resident of Sanger, TX,  passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 8, 1935, in Carrollton, TX., Lloyd's life was a testament to devotion, service, and love.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce Webb; daughters, Cynthia Brown and Jennifer Sullivan; son-in-law, Jack Sullivan; grandchildren, Hogan and Grace Sullivan; nephews, James, Ronnie, Donnie, and Ken Webb; sister-in-law, Margie Ledbetter; and nieces,
Kamey McEwan, Janie Sons, and Sarah Ledbetter. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ashley and Josie Edith Webb, and his brother, Joe Webb.


A proud alum of Texas Christian University, Lloyd embodied the values of his education throughout his life. His commitment to service was unwavering, as evidenced by his honorable service in the Navy on the nuclear submarine Sago and a lifelong career in social work in Dallas and Denton Counties. Lloyd's faith was a cornerstone of his life serving as a Deacon of the Old School Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX where he was baptized in the 1990s.

Lloyd's enthusiasm for life extended to his local community, where he was an avid supporter of Sanger High School sports announcing High School Football games and attending basketball games throughout the 1980s. He also enjoyed staying in touch with former classmates from Carrollton High School where he graduated in 1954.

His love for gospel music was deep; he found joy in singing and touring with the Blackwood Brothers after high school graduation. Lloyd also had a lifelong fascination with submarines and the Blue Angels, reflecting his enduring interest in naval and aerial achievements. His other hobbies included woodworking and assembling models of military aircraft and battleships in his workshop.


The family is being assisted by DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas, during this time. Lloyd's life will be celebrated and remembered for the mark he left on those who knew him and the community he held dear.
