IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lonnie Lee
Muse
February 27, 1952 – August 18, 2023
Beloved husband and Father, Lonnie Muse, passed away on the afternoon of August 18, 2023. Born in Oklahoma City to Herbert and Geneva Muse on February 27, 1952, Lonnie lived a life full of love, family, and faith.
A man of many accomplishments, Lonnie became an Eagle Scout in his youth and continued serving the Scouts into adulthood as a Longhorn Council District Chairman and Scout Master. In his early 20's, Lonnie enlisted in the U.S. Navy and bravely served his country during the Vietnam Conflict on the fast attack nuclear Submarine, the U.S.S. Pollock, as a Fire Control Technician. While in bootcamp,
Lonnie met the love of his life, Gloria, on a blind date. From that fateful day forward, he and his "Sunshine Girl" went on to build a joyous life together that lasted through 49 years, three children, and four grandchildren.
Anyone that knew Lonnie knows how much he enjoyed his work. Lonnie had a long career, ranging from an upstart paper-boy, a teenage salesman at Anthony's department store, to sales, electrical engineering, and finally a Functional Safety Engineer. He was passionate about doing his best and enjoyed mentoring others along their own life paths. This love for teaching and mentoring also extended to his personal life – as he loved to teach Sunday School, served his church as a deacon. Lonnie was everything to his family. A devoted husband and father, he imparted onto his children an abundance of knowledge that helped them build successful lives. His legacy of faith, love,
and knowledge will continue through the lives of his children, grandchildren, and for generations to come.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Muse. His three children, Vanessa, Tyrell, and Savannah. Daughter-In-Law, Chelsea Muse and Son-In-Law, Scott Smith. As well as his four grandchildren: Connor, Logan, Scarlet, and Evan. He is also survived by his two brothers: Darwin Muse of Arkansas, Mike Muse, and his wife Ruthie Muse, of Oklahoma. Along with nieces and nephews; Jayston, Stevie, Darah, Kim, Marcus, and Alia. Countless cousins and longtime friends live on to remember him fondly.
Funeral services will be held at Southmont Baptist Church at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 26, 2023. Lonnie will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton following the service.
