Lonnie Don Walker Jr. "LD"

Lonnie Don Walker Jr., of Denton, Texas, passed away on December 26, 2025.

Lonnie was born in Hillsboro, Texas, where he attended Peabody School. He spent most of his life in Hillsboro before moving to Plainview, Texas, and later settling in Denton, Texas. Throughout his life, Lonnie cherished time with his family and found joy in simple pleasures—playing dominoes, dancing, and listening to the blues.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

One son, Mickel Brown of Denton, Texas

  • Sharean Wilson (Joseph Wilson) of Denton, Texas

  • Barbara Davis (Billy Davis) of Denton, Texas

  • Rhonda Harper of Edmond, Oklahoma

  • Tonja Poarch (James Poarch) of Denton, Texas

• 21 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Walker Sr. and Ardine Walker; his beloved wife, Charleen Walker; two sons, Jerry Walker and Dwight Walker; and three sisters.

Lonnie’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion to family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
