Lou Ann Copp, 71, of Denton passed away Sunday, March 1st at home. She was born on August 18, 1943 in Denton, to Marie and Bailey Phillips. She is survived by 2 daughters, Anette Gary Gabbard and husband, Keith Gabbard of Krum, TX, Kim Gary of Keller, TX, a Grandson, Josh Gabbard who will graduate from SHSU in May, a sister Baileen Coxey of Oklahoma and 3 Nephews, Kevin and Lindsay Sanford of Krum TX, Travis Sanford of Oklahoma and Butch Nichols of Ponder, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents Marie and Bailey Phillips and her sister, Oleta North.

Lou Ann was a high school graduate of Krum, TX. In the 80's, she worked for McAllister's Vending/Catering and was the Cafeteria Manager at Victor Equipment for several years. Then she purchased Wee Care Day Care in Krum and was the proud owner for 12 years. After she sold the daycare, she worked at Texas Workforce until July 2014. Lou Ann's pride and joy was her only grandson "JC". She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, 2014 from 6-8 at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 6, 2014 at 10:00 at the Green Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Sanford, Mike Sanford, Logan Sanford, Donny Ingram, Chris Doyle and Todd Culley.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial be made to www.phichitheta.org/foundation (Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity for education scholarships) or to the COPD Foundation and in memory of Lou Ann Copp.
